CONCENTRATION

For my concentration, I am doing music posters advertising a fictional band I created called "The Milestones". My concentration has another side to it, though, as each poster/piece represents a "milestone" in a person's life, and the images on the poster as well as the "supporting bands" also relate to that event. In addition, the dates and locations of these fictional concerts starring The Milestones are the actual locations and approximate dates of where and when I experienced those life-changing events. For example, the location of The Milestones' show in my first piece, "Birth" is the address of the hospital I was born at.

Ghosting project

This is my ghosting piece:

I wrote about some of my first memories of school, and went over certain areas with gesso to make shapes. I went over the shapes using gouache and acrylic paints to add some color.

Portfolio Pieces

This is my graphite portion of my series. We used the same image in 3 different mediums--graphite, black and white water color, and color.
This is my visual representation of a song called "Marching Bands of Manhattan" by the band, Death Cab for Cutie. It is done in acrylic.

This is my monochromatic still life, done in gouache, of some objects in my dining room.

This is my 3-layer linoleum print of a starfish and some kelp underwater.

This is my expressive self-portrait. It is a transfer that I went over in colored pencils.

This is a high-contrast painting of my friend, Gina, and me. It's done in black and white acrylic.

This is a painting of a flower done in acrylic.

pixelated portrait

This is my pixelated portrait in the style of Chuck Close. It is similar to his, but a bit more realistic and cubist--a sort of merging of the tech, computer look with my portrait.
